A Celebration Day for Girls

A one-day workshop for 10-12 years old girls with their mother or female carer to support girls and mothers at this special threshold in both their lives, and to provide an affirming, grounded and connected celebration of the journey to womanhood. Also included is a two hour session with the mothers before the day.

Menarche signifies the beginning of a girl’s fertile years and the menstrual cycle is an intrinsic part of nearly half of her life. For many girls this is a time of embarrassment, anxiety and mixed messages about what it means to be a girl in a maturing female body. Our experience shows that girls who experience menarche well prepared, with a positive introduction and emotional support, approach their first period with curiosity and excitement and an openness that allows them to seek out the information and help they need.

During A Celebration Day for Girls, the positively presented and fascinating facts, fun activities and spacious conversation around the menstrual cycle can have a profound and lasting impact on girls, in conjunction with the ongoing support of mothers, families and other carers.

By enabling a healthy and grounded experience of the changes of puberty we deeply nourish girls’ self-esteem, self-awareness and positive body image.

Please contact us to find out more about the day and how to book. More information can be found at the Celebration Day website, or take 2 minutes to watch this video which gives a really good flavour of the day.

Coaching...
As well as the Celebration Day, we also offer coaching for parents/carers, working with you one to one to best support your daughter and your own journey with your cycle at the same time. Please contact us to arrange a no-cost session to discuss how we can work with you to make this a connected and close time for you both.

A Celebration Day for Girls was lovingly crafted by Jane Bennett over 15 years into the beautiful creation it is today. She continues to train facilitators all around the world to spread this work as far and wide as possible. Emily and Charlotte are trained facilitators of this work, accredited by Jane.

We now have a bursary fund available so that money is not an obstacle to people attending.

Training
We are also now able to offer training to facilitate Celebration Days as Emily is a licensed Trainer and the UK & Europe Coordinator. Please contact us for more information.
