Confidently supporting young people with periods – free training, Bath

Date: February 17, 2020
Time: 12:00 am - 12:00 am
Location: Walcot rd, Bath

FREE training for youth workers and others who work with young people who are going through puberty and starting periods. ONLY 10 PLACES

Periods have often been stigmatised and taboo, making freely speaking about them and having the correct factual knowledge about them quite rare. Many young people have no one to go to when in need about their periods and end up keeping quiet – which strengthens the taboo and stigma - leading to shame and embarrassment.

This training provides attendees with the knowledge and understanding required to break down the taboo and myth and to factually support young people as they go through puberty and start experiencing periods.

It will equip attendees with the confidence and skills to run 121 and group sessions to support the young people that they work with, including an introduction to key resources that will enhance your sessions.

Most importantly it will help attendees, as an adult in a position of trust, to feel comfortable speaking about periods and therefore become a person that young people can go to when in need.

This training is FREE and provided by The Real Period Project www.realperiodproject.org

It takes place at 88 Walcot Street , Bath , BA1 5BD and is hosted by The Girl Guides.

Some on street parking is available but there is the Cattle Market Carpark nearby.
